On the occasion of International Francophonie Day, the Francophone Network for Equality/Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (REFEDI) publishes a tool dedicated to policies and mechanisms for equality/equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in higher education and research within the Francophonie.
This document provides an overview of several national and institutional contexts. It highlights the legal frameworks, public policies, and initiatives implemented to combat discrimination, promote equality, and foster more inclusive learning and work environments.
Structured in the form of fact sheets For each of the countries represented on the REFEDI Strategic Orientation Committee, this document aims to be a practical, concrete resources and a snapshot of the situation in 2026. It aims to support institutions, networks, and individuals engaged in the development of EDI policies. It also helps to better understand the diversity of approaches adopted, identify levers for action, and promote the sharing of practices within the Francophonie.
