CPED is pleased to present the Guide to combating sexual and gender-based violence in medical studiesproduced in collaboration withFrench National Association of Medical Students (ANEMF).

The VSS Fighting Guide helps students toidentify a violent situationof react and to learn about the various criminal, disciplinary and professional procedures they can engage.

This guide was also an opportunity to produce a inventory of all hotlines and reporting systems faculty, university and hospital staff, to enable students to find out about and apply for these schemes.

CPED was asked by ANEMF to contribute to the design of this guide, and we agreed to do so, given the importance of this student initiative. Indeed, we know that studying medicine is a very demanding particularly fertile ground to certain comments and behaviors that have a negative impact on students and, to a greater extent, on female students. The aim was therefore not only to support ANEMF's initiative in principle, but also to share our experience and knowledge of higher educationWe also have a thorough understanding of the realities of university anti-violence measures, from preventing violence, reporting it, supporting those who suffer it, to the range of possible sanctions.

The reduction of VSS in medical studies is a subject on which the members of CPED have been mobilizing for several years. In fact, CPED has initiated training specific to medical schoolsThis guide takes into account the specific nature of these studies, as well as the different training and teaching environments. She therefore emphasizes the importance of this guide. It is primarily intended for medical students. It will also be a an invaluable tool for all those working to promote equality and combat SGBV in higher education establishments.

Finally, this guide is a reminder of two things:
Firstly, universities have listening, support and reporting services open to all, and available to anyone who wishes to make a confidential enquiry.
Then, in medicine as elsewhere, impunity does not exist.
