The LGBTQI+ Chair and CPED have jointly developed a toolbox for raising awareness about the fight against LGBTQI+phobias in higher education and research institutions. This work is part of the implementation of the MESRE's (Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Space) policy on combating LGBTQI+phobias. This toolbox will be available to you on April 20, 2026 so that it can be deployed in your establishments for May 17 (International Day Against LGBTQI+phobia) and for your actions throughout the year.

What is it about?

The toolbox has been designed and written by Zo Michiels, Project Manager at the LGBTQI+ Chair, and will be illustrated by Silver. It will be composed of :

– An activity book to be distributed to the university community, in which you will find various games and exercises to raise awareness about the fight against LGBTQI+phobias in higher education and research. You will find word searches, messages to decode, quizzes, a spot-the-difference game, a horoscope, and much more. These activities allow, in a fun way, to learn more about LGBTQI+ rights, the vocabulary to use (or not), and different strategies to combat discrimination.

– The 4 awareness posters (with legal reminders, highlighting scientific data, or suggesting actions).

For whom?

The toolbox is intended for staff and students of higher education and research institutions.

How to seize it?

The notebook can be filled out alone or with others. It can be distributed without specific facilitation (all instructions are in the notebook). It is strongly recommended to print it (the online version is not playable). The notebooks can:

·       To be displayed on stands (back-to-school or other)

· Be freely accessible at the library

· To be distributed at events on LGBTQI+phobias (May 17th, study days...)

· To be distributed during training/awareness sessions

To be available as a self-service option in staff/student break rooms or any other common area of the institution.

· To be offered to student associations for them to disseminate (for example, on the occasion of an event)

- Can be used in many other ways depending on the programming and operation of your facility!
