At a time when transphobic outbursts are multiplying in the media, it's crucial to recognize that the persistent challenges faced by LGBTI people demand ongoing action. It is important to remember that'one LGBT+ person in three has been physically or verbally abused at work because of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity (IFOP for l'Autre Cercle, 2024).

Against this backdrop, CPED lists awareness-raising initiatives against LGBTIphobia carried out by higher education and research establishments on the occasion of the May 17th. This international day against LGBTIphobia aims to raise awareness and prevent all forms of violence against LGBTI+ people.

Although not all establishments are yet fully involved in this mobilization, each year sees an increase in both the number and commitment of actions undertaken. This year, these actions were accompanied by collaborative work between plants within the CPED "Supporting LGBTI+ people in higher education and research" working groupwhoseclosing event takes place on June 26 at Cité Audacieuse.
