Policies to combat sexual and gender-based violence and discrimination are gaining ground in higher education and research (ESR), and are initiating a genuine structural change in French establishments. This change is part of the drive to strengthen victim protection and combat impunity for perpetrators of violence. Within the ESR, what recent developments have taken place in the institutional handling of situations of violence and discrimination? How do we listen to and support victims today? How are situations handled in disciplinary terms?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To answer these questions, the 6e<\/sup> he national day of equality missions will focus specifically on systems for preventing and dealing with sexist and sexual violence (SGBV) and discrimination - commonly known as \"cellule d'\u00e9coute\" or \"cellule de veille\" - the pillars of policies to combat SGBV and discrimination. Created in a few pioneering universities back in the 2010s, these mechanisms are now a legal obligation under the August 6, 2019 law transforming the civil service. What choices are made by establishments in creating these schemes? How do they work? How can they ensure better listening, care and support for victims? What are the best practices? What difficulties do facilities encounter? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day will bring together people involved in the operation of these mechanisms within ESR establishments, as well as experts in SSV and discrimination. It will provide an opportunity to exchange practices, expertise and political, legal and scientific insights, with a view to improving institutional management of situations of violence and discrimination that undermine the principle of equality. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the 6th<\/strong>e<\/strong><\/sup>\u00a0edition of the national days of equality missions in higher education and research. The event is co-organized by the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI) and the French Ministry of Research.<\/strong>the Conf\u00e9rence des pr\u00e9sident.es d'universit\u00e9 (CPU<\/strong>), the Conf\u00e9rence des Directeur.trices des \u00e9coles fran\u00e7aises d'ing\u00e9nieur.es (CDEFI<\/strong>), the Conf\u00e9rence des grandes \u00e9coles (CGE<\/strong>), the Conf\u00e9rence permanente des charg.es de mission \u00c9galit\u00e9 et Diversit\u00e9 (CPED<\/strong>), and the Institut National d'Etudes D\u00e9mographiques (INED<\/strong>) and hosted this year byINSA Rouen Normandie<\/strong>.
