{"id":1357,"date":"2023-06-27T13:55:39","date_gmt":"2023-06-27T13:55:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cped-egalite.fr\/?p=1357"},"modified":"2023-06-27T13:55:41","modified_gmt":"2023-06-27T13:55:41","slug":"guide-to-combating-vss-in-medical-studies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cped-egalite.fr\/en\/guide-de-lutte-contre-les-vss-au-sein-des-etudes-de-medecine\/","title":{"rendered":"Guide to combating SGBV in medical studies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CPED is pleased to present the\u00a0<strong>Guide to combating sexual and gender-based violence in medical studies<\/strong>produced in collaboration with<strong>French National Association of Medical Students (ANEMF)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-anemf wp-block-embed-anemf\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"7B7CC5megB\"><a href=\"https:\/\/anemf.org\/actualites-divers\/guide-de-lutte-contre-les-violences-sexistes-et-sexuelles-au-sein-des-etudes-de-medecine\/\">Guide to combating sexual and gender-based violence in medical studies<\/a><\/blockquote><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&quot;Guide de lutte contre les Violences Sexistes et Sexuelles au sein des \u00e9tudes de m\u00e9decine&quot; - ANEMF\" src=\"https:\/\/anemf.org\/actualites-divers\/guide-de-lutte-contre-les-violences-sexistes-et-sexuelles-au-sein-des-etudes-de-medecine\/embed\/#?secret=s4QCKDVdK6#?secret=7B7CC5megB\" data-secret=\"7B7CC5megB\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The VSS Fighting Guide helps students to<strong>identify a violent situation<\/strong>of <strong>react<\/strong> and to learn about the various <strong>criminal, disciplinary and professional procedures<\/strong> they can engage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This guide was also an opportunity to produce a<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/anemf.org\/cellule-decoutes-dispositifs-de-signalement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> <strong>inventory of all hotlines and reporting systems<\/strong><\/a> faculty, university and hospital staff, to enable students to find out about and apply for these schemes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CPED was asked by ANEMF to contribute to the design of this guide, and we agreed to do so, given the importance of this student initiative. Indeed, we know that studying medicine is a very demanding <strong>particularly fertile ground<\/strong> to certain comments and behaviors that have a negative impact on students and, to a greater extent, on female students. The aim was therefore not only to support ANEMF's initiative in principle, but also to <strong>share our experience and knowledge of higher education<\/strong>We also have a thorough understanding of the realities of university anti-violence measures, from preventing violence, reporting it, supporting those who suffer it, to the range of possible sanctions.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The reduction of VSS in medical studies is a subject on which the members of CPED have been mobilizing for several years. In fact, CPED has initiated <strong>training specific to medical schools<\/strong>This guide takes into account the specific nature of these studies, as well as the different training and teaching environments. She therefore emphasizes the importance of this guide. It is primarily intended for medical students.
